  • Aerial Surveys

Helicopter aerial surveying falls under the industry standard of an aerial survey — it is a method of collecting geomatics, which compromises the collection, distribution, and analysis of geographic data. While the aerial survey can be utilized via airplanes and balloons, helicopters have the unique benefit of being more nimble and quicker to deploy.

Typically, helicopter surveying includes aerial photography, remote-sensing via visible and invisible bands of electromagnetic energy, as well as geophysical data. This sort of information is highly valuable for industries about mineral exploration, geophysicists, vegetation monitoring, and transportation projects like the construction of roadways and highways. To carry out an aerial survey, a helicopter will be fixed with sensors. The sensors are typically mounted externally.

Hangar 58 Aerial Surveying works with mapping firms to fly their data gathering systems to make them easier to solve their complex engineering challenges. Experienced pilots are highly trained and experienced in providing position in low-flying aptitudes to map areas and regions for industry leaders. Our aerial survey helicopters provide a safe way to view potential land purchases, scope out agricultural opportunities, as well as have a comprehensive understanding of the surrounding land and properties for real estate and corporate expansion.

  • Photography/Videography

It takes the creative collaboration of hundreds of people to create the illusion of being in a different world than our own. The film industry has been immersing us in different realities for more than seven decades, which allows us to temporarily escape the problems in our lives and connect with humanity in a different setting. Filmmakers use helicopters to shoot aerial footage for scenes that require the audience to remove themselves from the action and see things from a wider perspective. Helicopters make the best storytellers in this case since they have the unique ability to travel quickly over terrain but also stop in one location and hover to emphasize particular elements of the landscape. Often, film footage has to be crisp without appearing choppy, requiring a steady hand but also a smooth ride. Our pilots have experience and training to ensure that aerial footage is vibrant and clean.

  • Fire Fighting

Every year in the United States, an average of 1.2 million acres of woodland is burned because of wildfires, whether the fires are caused by lightning strikes, controlled burning that "got loose", human negligence, or arson. When wildfires occur, they don't simply take vegetation but destroy homes and businesses that are located in the vicinity, in addition to destroying the habitats and homes of local wildlife. When you call Hangar 58 for aerial firefighting service, you can trust in us to send well-trained, licensed helicopter pilots who often have previous, large-scale experience suppressing or controlling wildfires. Heli-tankers come equipped with advanced fire suppression systems to allow firefighters to choose customized delivery methods for water or chemical application.

Unlike planes that must follow a pre-determined path of delivery, firefighting helicopters have the advantage of being able to hover in spots and adjust delivery strategies as necessary. They can also replenish water and return to the scene quickly. Some helicopters come equipped with large pump-equipped buckets that can source water from rivers, lakes, and even shallow ponds and streams. They are suspended up to 200-feet below the helicopter, allowing pilots to access tree-lined or restricted-access water sources. When you need helicopter fighting assistance, our team can deliver the expertise you need quickly, minimizing loss of lives, property and environmental habitats.
